How to run the remove–install KES script [KES for Windows]

Description

Sometimes due to different issues, the installation of Kaspersky Endpoint Security is corrupted. You can experience the Security Software is not running, Protection is stopped errors, and etc.

The normal troubleshooting process is as follows:

1. Use the Start/Stop application task to run KES.
2. Reboot the affected computer.
3. Install the latest KES Private Fix (hereinafter PF) and reboot the PC.
4. Reinstall and reboot KES.

Unfortunately, the steps above do not always help. In this case, you can use the KES Fix Package.

This script is designed to remove the previous installation of KES versions, clean the registry, perform several restarts, and finally install KES.

Step-by-step guide

Prepare the files

1. Download remove_install_KES_11_19.zip and extract its files into a separate folder.
2. Check if KES and PF from the archive are of the latest version.
3. There is a TXT file named Params.txt. Edit and set the correct username and password for KES removal (if password protection is required).
   You can add a few variations, one per each line. The first line in the Params.txt must be EMPTY for the purpose of removal without login/pass.
4. Add a license key to the package optionally inside the unpacked file.

Create a KSC package

1. Navigate to Advance → Remote installation → Installation packages.

Select Create installation package.

    2. In the New package wizard, specify fix_clean.cmd as executable and select the Copy entire folder to the installation package check box in the same window.

 

Create a task

1. Create a task for the desired machine.
2. Run the task (the task will complete with the error of an unexpected reboot).
3. The host should be rebooted once. After the reboot, a new version should be installed automatically.

Notes

1. The device will restart 3 times.
2. The package execution could take up to 10–15 min, depending on the OS config and reboot speed.
3. Do not disturb the target host until this operation completes (the host may reboot automatically up to 3 times).
4. Finally, KES + the latest patch should be installed.

分步指南

准备文件

创建 KSC 包

1. 导航至高级→远程安装→安装包。      

选择 创建安装包。

    2. 在新建包向导中，指定为可执行文件，并在同一窗口中选中将整个文件夹复制到安装包复选框。 fix_clean.cmd   

 

创建 任务

1. 为所需机器创建任务。
2. 运行任务（任务完成时将出现意外重启的错误）。
3. 主机需要重启一次。重启后，新版本应该会自动安装。

笔记

1. 设备将重启3次。
2. 包执行可能需要 10-15 分钟，具体取决于操作系统配置和重启速度。
3. 在此操作完成之前请勿干扰目标主机（主机可能会自动重启最多 3 次）。
4. 最后，应该安装 KES + 最新补丁。

The usage steps are excellent. May I ask what version of kes is supported up to at most? For example, is kes12.9 okay? Is it necessary to modify the cmd contents of those scripts
