How to Disable Auto Protection

Using Kaspersky Anti-Virus 20.0.14.1085 (g)

Two questions:

  1. How can I disable auto-deletion of files? I want Kasperspy AV to ASK me before deleting a file, and not just delete.
  2. Can I tell Kaspersly which type of “bad” files to not scan for? For example, if I want Adware left alone, can I tell it to not delete or disable those type of files?

Welcome. It looks like you want to go to the Kaspersky > Settings, and disable Automatic mode by enabling Interactive mode. Also, it looks like you want to, in the Kaspersky > Settings, disable Other software detection.

Thank you. With your instructions, I was now about to prevent Kaspersky from just deleting files. However, if I try to run that same file, it will still block the action. I have to manually disable protection to do what I need to do, and then re-enable when I’m done using the file. Is there a way to have Kaspersky say maybe, “this file might be bad, still want to run it?”

You’re welcome.

Please post the full, complete detection details. Full file name, full path, full location, detection verdict. Post screenshot of Reports > Detailed reports > Detected objects.
Main Kaspersky window > More Tools > Reports > upper right > Detailed reports > at the upper left, drop down from All Events to Detected objects.

How to take and post screenshot: https://support.kaspersky.com/common/diagnostics/492

PrtSc (Print screen) key (upper right part of keyboard)> open Paint (Start > All programs > Accessories) > Edit > Paste, File >
Save as (jpeg or png, Not bmp). When replying, bottom left of reply box > Drag files here to attach, or choose files... Submit reply.

I’ll post that tomorrow. For the moment, at least, it will no longer delete. Thank you… a big help.
