How to allow hpscan.exe when i am using Kaspersky Next EDR Foundation

Hi all,

My hpscan.exe from HP LaserJet mfp m236sdw is unable to load properly after i installed Kaspersky Next EDR foundation on Windows 11 Pro winver 25h2.

I have update my printer's firmware and uses the latest and updated basic driver provided in the HP webpage , but just couldn't get it to work. On some instances when i use hp smart app etc, i was able to hear the scanner move, but afterward it prompts error messages like "scanner problem" or "The scanner failed to complete scan..."

Funny thing is after i uninstall the endpoint security for windows, the scanner works perfectly fine.

I have set some exclusions from my cloud.kaspersky console but nothing seems to work.

Maybe someone who has encounter this issue before can share some knowledge to overcome this issue ?

Welcome to Kaspersky Community.

How is it connected that printer: USB or NetWork?

The issue is on lan connection. I tried changing the ip address as it is running on fixed ip. Hp scan still stuck at the loading page and prompts the same error after about 5mins times out. From cmd I’m able to ping and the link is stable. But when I use windows fax and scan , apparently it is also looping at the connection and not able to establish a link .

On the other hand, USB connection is perfectly fine. Which I believe it’s a different type of security protocol .

I have multiple users taping on this copier, and I need to troubleshoot the LAN connection and get the hpscan running again .

Hum ok, for that You have to setup on Private Your network in Windows, also in the Kaspersky FireWall settings (console policy), in Available NetWorks, check Your network is in Local or Trusted.

Also try in Network Packets rules, to enable Local Services TCP and UDP.
