Got the wrong kasperksy region license and it wasn't my fault. Contact number for kaspersky is incorrect as well.

Every time I try and activate this it says it's the wrong region and I only brought it today via trade me with this seller it says on the trade me page their seller ID is J201NZ00.

The site I brought it off and the link: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/computers/software/antivirus/listing/5474397885

I really need help with my lisence, and I have tried contacting them but they wont reply.

I have tried that 0800 number you guys have on your site, and it's the wrong number!!!!!  

 

I am really angry about this because I have not had any help and the seller wont reply to me.

Welcome back!

  1. IF (you're) in NZ & the purchase was made in NZ there should not be a region issue - however, the Kaspersky documented process to manage this type of issue is: What to do if activation stops with the "Activation code is invalid for this region" error?
  2. Reading (your) post it appears as tho (you've) already logged an incident request -> ID INC000017733788, IF that's correct then please wait patiently for Kaspersky Customer Service to respond, they will do so in due course. 
  3. We're not sure about the issue with the 0800 number,. however - it's *out-of-scope* for the Kaspersky-Community-Forum*, IF the 0800 number is a Kaspersky number - please raise it with Kaspersky Customer Service when you discuss the region issue with them, otherwise - please raise it with Trademe. 
  4. Also, bc the software was purchased from a third-pty-merchant, it's possible Kaspersky may direct (you) back to them; IF Trademe are not replying to you that's very unfortunate but beyond Kaspersky's control. 

Please share the outcome, with the Community, when it's available?

Heyo,

 

I have done an incident report.  Eh well if I don't get help from kaspersky I will be leaving them for good.  Sad if they don't though since i have been a customer for ages.

  2. We mention it as a possibility, it's not absolute, just a *possibility*, don't give up yet! Also, we notice Trademe have a chat service, has that been tried?

They wont do anything for 2 days and say to wait for the seller to reply.  Never had this problem with getting correct license before.

 

The 0800 number goes to someone else.  The one that you have on the main site for help doesn't go to kaspersky at all that 0800 451 468.

  1. The Kaspersky Customer Service is normal, the subscription has been purchased from a third-pty-merchant; it's appropriate the third-pty-merchant fixes the issue - in the first instance. 
  2. May we have the URL where the 0800 451 468 number is sourced from please? 
  3. Have you tried the Trademe Chat option?

Kaspesky wont help.  Looks like Im leaving kaspersky for good.

This is not possible I'm afraid. Activation Codes are intended to be sold and used in the region they are purchased. This is to prevent software piracy. In cases like this I recommend that you contact the vendor and request a refund or replacement.

Thank you for posting back & the information! 

It's truly awful that (you've) been conned by an unscrupulous merchant - that Kaspersky has no control of - as KSC correctly advised - Trademe are not Kaspersky official business partners

IF (you're) unable to resolve the issue with Trademe we'd recommend lodging a complaint with NZ Consumer Protection, actually, (IF this were our problem) we'd lodge a complaint anyway as the merchant is selling product that is not as described on their website.
