Firefox update to 112 safe money will not run

Recommended Posts

Firefox in Safe money seems to have tried to update to 112.0 but safe money won't run. Tried updating firefox outside of safe money but it won't update. I need to recover the firefox profile in safe money for safekeeping whilst I sort this out. Will there now be 2 separate profiles?

Thanks  for any pointers.

Running win7.

I have found the bookmarks backups folder which contains KIS and PURE folders but neither contains a backup later than 24 Dec. 2020. I currently have Plus 21.9.6.465. Is this bookmarks backup stored elsewhere?

Currently in Program data/kaspersky lab/safe browser file.

When I launch Firefox in safe money I get the "Failed to launch..." etc. notice but I have 3 instances of firefox.exe running before I cancel the notice "Firefox is already running..."etc.

I can't submit this request on the portal as the submit button is greyed out.

Hello @picturevalve

Welcome back!

  1. Which Region?
  2. Have (you) tried another browser?
  3. Have (you) tried running the browser as Incognito/InPrivate?
  4. Go to: https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts, select Chat or Email, fill in the template, does the 'greyed out' Submit button issue still exist?

Thank you?

I have tried those options in 4. filled out everything, agreed to the privacy statement etc. but submit is still greyed out. Trying to contact them otherwise is refused as I do not have an incident reference.

I am not interested in other browsers, I can run firefox outside the safe money enviroment, my concern is recovering my bookmarks etc. As things stand they seem to have disappeared.

Can someone draw the attention of "support" to these posts, please?

Thanks.

Hello @picturevalve

Thank you for posting back!

  1. The reason we asked *Which Region?* is so we can check the issue - so, please tell us which REGION you've physically located in when you're trying to log the Incident?
  2. The reason we suggested using another browser is as a temporary measure so you can get the incident logged.
  3. When you completed the Incident template was the reCAPTCHA Robot *active*?
  4. IF you fill in the Email form, *in another browser, not Firefox/SafeMoney browser*, from this support page: https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c/global - does it work?
  5. No-one can *draw* the attention of support to your posts - support does not have a crystal ball or x-ray vision - to log the incident, support require information (from you) that cannot be posted/shared here in the Community - it's to protect (your) privacy & security & is written in the Community guidelines.

Thank you?

  • 4 weeks later...

Kaspersky lab support have restored my FF installation inside safe money and suggested I un-install an old FF installation (the last iteration which had the old search engine instead of the current "chrome" engine).

I have not yet done this as I need to make sure I recover the profiles from both.
