Dear Mirza

Greetings !!

Please find the information next to your query raised :

1. What is the process of deploying Failover Clustering / High Availability on KSC :

Kaspersky provides a detailed, step-by-step guide for this process. The key is to first prepare the Windows Server Failover Cluster and then install KSC on it.

- About the Kaspersky Security Center failover cluster: This article gives a high-level overview of the concept and requirements.

- Installing Kaspersky Security Center on the Kaspersky Security Center failover cluster nodes: This is the direct, step-by-step guide for the installation process.

- Preparing nodes for a Kaspersky Security Center failover cluster: This guide walks through the prerequisites and preparation of the Windows Server cluster itself.

2. What is the requirement we have to follow for Failover Clustering:

The requirements are primarily covered in the preparation and installation guides, but this article specifically outlines the necessary prerequisites.

Administration Server requirements: This page provides details on the software and hardware requirements, including the necessary Windows Server versions and database configurations.

3. What will be the challenges or Troubleshooting steps we may have to face during Failover Clustering deployments:

While general troubleshooting guides exist, a dedicated article for KSC cluster failures is not as common as the installation guides. However, the following sources provide valuable information for troubleshooting various KSC and Network Agent issues, which are often the root causes of problems in a cluster environment.

Troubleshooting the connection problems between the Network Agent for Windows and the Administration Server: This is a crucial resource, as connection issues are a primary cause of failed failovers.

4. What will be the Hardware and Software Sizing Guide:

Kaspersky provides detailed hardware and software requirements that can be used to determine sizing. While there isn't a single "sizing calculator" page, the requirements are often broken down by the number of managed devices.

- Hardware and software requirements: This page provides the general requirements for the Administration Server and its database, with specific recommendations for different network sizes (e.g., up to 100, up to 1,000, etc.). You can extrapolate the requirements for 500 workstations from this guide.

In conclusion, I believe that failover clustering is unnecessary since if you have KSC_Backup, it only takes 30 minutes to prepare a KSC and make it live. If KSC services are disrupted, security and policy enforcement stay unchanged at the endpoints.
