Failed restore ov Veeam Backup VM to Amazon EC2 with Kaspersky Endpoint Protection client

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I am having an issue while restoring some of my VM's to Amazon EC2 using Veeam Backup & Replication.
I have narrowed it down to issue with Kaspersky Endpoint protection, but what is strange that I have two pretty much identical virtual machines (Domain Controllers) in terms of configuration, both with Kaspersky Endpoint protection installed, with one VM restored without issues, and the other fails with "FirstBootFailure" error.

I have tried to restore the VM in question to isolated environment, uninstalled the Kaspersky EP, back it up, and managed to restore normally, so it is definitely related to AV software.
Both VM's are under the same Kaspersky EP version (11.1.1.126), and managed under a same policy by Kaspersky Security Center v10.

Can you please provide us with information about the OS used?

KSC10 and KES11.1.1 are outdated.

Upgrade to:

KSC12.1    https://support.kaspersky.com/ksc12#downloads

KES11.4    https://support.kaspersky.com/kes11#downloads

For Windows server operating systems you should use KS4WS instead of KES.

Alex

Hello,

I have reinstalled Kaspersky security application on the server in question, but I am afraid  I am getting the same results as not being able to restore to EC2 instance (Still stuck at 39% and failure after time out).

I have tested restore with Kaspersky uninstalled, and it works without problems, so definitely the problem is with Kaspersky.

I have installed KS4WS.
