Excessive CPU Usage by ntoskrnl.exe or system Process with Kaspersky Installed

Recommended Posts

Hello Kaspersky community,

I've been encountering a performance issue on my system, and I believe Kaspersky might be involved. I've noticed that the processes ntoskrnl.exe or system in Task Manager are consuming over 20% of CPU resources when Kaspersky is installed. However, when I uninstall Kaspersky or disable its services, CPU usage returns to normal at 0%.

I would appreciate it if you could provide some advice or solutions to address this issue. I have installed the latest version of the product and have performed all available updates.

Additional Information:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 Pro
  • Other Installed Security Programs: 0

Thank you in advance for any assistance provided!

Hello,

Which edition of Kaspersky is it? Basic, Standard, Plus or Premium?

Are you sure that Kaspersky isn’t scanning? No app vulnerability, quick or background scan ongoing?

Have you already done the age old solution of restoring to default settings?
