Hi, i am using the Kaspersky Security Center 13.2 with Kaspersky Endpoint Security (v11.7.0.669) clients. My problem is that when i start an KES-update on the client (doesn’t matter if i start it manually from the client or with an automated task with the  managment console) i always get the error “task failed” (Error_0x85DC001B). The Update sources are the Kaspersky Security Center and the second one is the Kaspersky Update Server

Hi,

From information provided, it seems that KES update component may be malfunctioning. In order to resolve the issue, please try to uninstall and re-install KES then perform database update task.

To remove any remnants of the KES product, please use kavremover utility to uninstall KES.

Download the archive  kavremover.zip from the following link:
https://support.kaspersky.com/1464#block1

I hope this helps.

This seems to be an ongoing issue with 11.7.0.669.  I have upgrade 120 machines to it when it first came out.  So far, this update issue has happened on maybe 7 machines.  All at different times.  Some laptops, some desktops, some on network, some coming from a VPN.  Reinstalling DOES fix the issue on the one machine, but it just hits another a few days later. One happened last Thursday, and on Monday there was another.

Hi,

This may be related to corrupted databases in KSC. In order to fix it, please clear updates repository and download the updates once again.

Once new database updates are downloaded, please run database update task for your managed devices.

I hope this helps.

Nope, didn’t work.  Removed the update files and re-downloaded them. Had 3 machines that need update.  2 it failed, one it worked.

Hi,

If none of the above solutions apply, the case should require Kaspersky Support assistance. Please contact the Kaspersky Business Support team by opening a web ticket through the company's account portal: https://companyaccount.kaspersky.com/account/login or contact technical support in your region.

Please see your region support group contacts here: https://support.kaspersky.com/b2b/

Thank you for your cooperation.

As I understand you, there are 83 machines, and the update error is constantly on different computers. Tired of reinstalling the antivirus.

I have to open a ticket.  Its been 2 months and clients are still failing to update randomly.  The only way to fix it is to uninstall Endpoint and reinstall it on those machines.
