Email Address Change Problem.

I wish to change my email address but can't  - I followed the steps but I step 4 doesn't function  i.e. I cannot delete the old and enter the new adress

I am sure the solution is simple but I don't know what it is. Thanks

 

To change the email address:

  1. Click the link with your email address in the upper-right corner of the page.

    A drop-down menu opens.

  2. Click the manage your account button.

    This opens a window in which you can edit the account settings.

  3. Go to the Email address tab.
  4. Enter the new email address.
  5. Enter your account password.
  6. Click the Save button.

    A message containing a link for confirming the new email address is sent to the specified email address.

  7. Click the link in the message.

The new email address is confirmed and will be used with your account in the future.

  1. There's no *deleting* of the old-email-address in any of the documented steps, My Kaspersky, Managing your account, How to change the email address:
  2. By entering a *new* email address the *old* email address is *replaced*.         
  3. IF the process is not working, exit the browser & MyKaspersky session & try *another* browser, IF the process still doesn't work, log the issue with Kaspersky, follow from dot-point 4 below:image.thumb.png.b21c027d46df2e7be26eed51e5441a77.png
  4. On the Kaspersky Customer Service page: https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c/global#contactsselect Emailselect (your) Kaspersky software from the dropdown-list (D) fill in the template as shown; please provide a *detailed-history*  & *do not use the AI-bot to submit the request*                        image.thumb.png.0a27dd8d9dffb8f7d5a1bca8055866d3.png

The problem is I have no "Manage your account" button only "manage followed content" and "account settings" and I cannot write in the address line in account settings.

Thank you for posting back & the information!

  1. *image one* -> in (your) MyKaspersky account, select the tiny arrow (1) to the right of (your) email address, in the drop-down-box, select the tiny arrow (2) to the right of (your) email address - also *underneath* the second email address -> see the words 'manage your account', selecting the second arrow will open the Account settings                                                                                       image.thumb.png.70d6559c7f5e5713d7e7667a7251b073.png
  2. *image two* -> in Account settings, select Email address (3), then type in (your) new email address & password, then select *Save* -> a verification link will be sent to the new email address, make sure to acknowledge the link                                                                                                                  image.thumb.png.6bb332c4c32a1fd565c8174d2c309fd5.png
  3. Also, IF (you) haven't already done so, Kaspersky recommends enabling 2 factor authentication, please read: How to set up two-step verification, for both mobile phone & authenticator app.

Problem solved, as I thought the problem it was due to my own crass stupidity. Many thanks for your kind patience. This forum certainly lives up to its reputation for excellence.

Now to see if I can put my T-shirt on by myself.
