Hello
I have Kaspersky Plus installed, in its latest version.
I get a warning that says the databases are out of date.
I update it, it connects, the progress is displayed until it reaches 100% and it simply continues to give the alert that the databases are not updated.
I use Windows 11, it is up to date. My computer has full internet access. My license is active within the United States.

Hello @jolo

Welcome!

Due to: US BAN, Database update and connectivity to Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) cloud service, effective 1st October, 2024:

Kaspersky is prohibited from providing product updates to US customers, including antivirus signature and codebase updates. Security apps will be disconnected from Kaspersky Security Network, which will limit the operation of some product features. Please see below to learn more about what features are dependent on Kaspersky Security Network and will become unavailable.

Read: information from Kaspersky, @MedvedevUnited, in topic: US Government Ban on private use of Kaspersky anti-virus, by Major Mike.

Thank you🙏

Another question, and what would be the solution, given that my license still has 77 days. Do you know if the company has taken or will take any action?

  1. Do you know if the company has taken or will take any action?

Hello @jolo

Thank you for posting back & the extra question!

Kaspersky have been forced out of the US, it was not by choice; they've engaged another company to provide an alternative solution, the migration began 19th September, 2024.

  1. Kaspersky @Vadim Nhas posted in topic: UltraAV software no notification, Automatically Installs, and Can't Remove it!! by Viper69

Thank you🙏

Same here, just figured out that US banned Kaspersky, and it traced back to April? Can they just do that? Lol...

Welcome @K0908

Sadly, yes they can, we've replied to your topic: Update for US customers? Actions? Refunds?

Thank you🙏

Solution: KAV comes with unlimited VPN. Turn it on, use server outside of US. Run manual update. Turn VPN off.
Yes, it is manual process once a day, but much better than sitting on obsolete databases. Maybe that process could be semi-automated by some 3rd party script runner (this topic is outside of this discussion).
ntil more permanent fix is done - it will work fine.
