Hello @Wayned

Welcome!

If discord is accessed via Chrome browser, in KSKWeb activity monitoring, add a Forbidden Exclusion for discord.com → image 1, result → image 2

If discord is accessed via installed app, in KSK, Application monitoring, add a Forbidden Exclusion for discord application → image 3, result → image 4

Thank you🙏

Thank you for the advice. It was because of Microsoft edge so we deleted it and installed chrome and it blocks it. I will say I’m still not happy with the change in this app, when we first got it for our oldest it would block all social media and had a page that you could select websites to block or allow, now you need to add them manually is crazy.

Hello @Wayned

You’re welcome☺ !

The same KSKWeb activity monitoring, add a Forbidden Exclusion for discord.com → image 1, has exactly the same result if discord is accessed via Edge Chromium→ image 2.

There’s no need to remove Edge Chromium, it can be blocked if you do not wish for your child to use it

MS EC v87.0.664.66

KSK v1.0.5.6390(f)

  1. What changes are you referring to?
  2. When did you first install KSK, date?

Please let us know?

Thank you🙏

@Flood and Flood's wife

i just deleted the Microsoft edge and installed the chrome browser it is now blocking discord, thank you for the help and advice.

I purchased this about 2 years ago for my oldest son, when we set it up back then you could go into let’s say the social media section and they had a list of all the most popular ones, I would be able to pick and choose what would be blocked and not.

thanks again!

Hello @Wayned

You’re most welcome☺

Re the “changed” app, the only thing we can think of is, Kaspersky originally had Kaspersky Parental Control (KPC), that was a product combined with their Anti-virus (KTS, KIS), they replaced KPC, with Kaspersky Safe Kids.

There’s a process to rollback, however, it requires a registry hack and, even tho it’s still supported (by Kaspersky), the day will come when it’s not.

Kaspersky have concentrated on developing & improving KSK, we’ve not used KPC, for some time so cannot confirm or refute the Social media options.

To revert to KPC, if Kaspersky Total Security (KTS) or Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) v21, is installed, follow the directions from Kaspersky Technical Support, Saturday, 14 November 2020 16:12:

1. Disable Self-Defense in KTS or KIS.
2. Exit KTS or KIS.
3. Press Win+R → type “regedit” → Enter
4. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\KasperskyLab\AVP21.x*\environment (*x = 1 or 2)
5. Find the SuggestSafeKids key
6. Double click on its value and change from 1 to 0.
7. Run KTS or KIS.
8. Enable Self-Defense.
9. Enjoy Parental Control.

An additional resource is: How to continue using Parental Control

Thank you🙏

Hello @lorycolon

Thank you for the information👌

  • Discord has an age rating of 12+ → image 1; for a child birth year 2014, Discord should be blocked by default/automatically
  1. Is your child’s phone also Android OS 8.0?
  2. Are the any other apps that you’re unable to apply a Forbidden rule?
  3. Have Discord been uninstalled?
  4. Has Discord been locked by any other Applock app?
  5. In your child’s phone, go to Settings, Apps, search for Discord, does it show as installed, post an image please?

Please let us know?

Thank you🙏
