Connection Established by Another Country

Hello,

 

I live in Canada, and yesterday I was on the free Kaspersky Secure Connection, and when I toggled to the “on” button, it said “connection established via Mexico” and I noticed on my WiFi it said along with myself  having internet access, an “unidentified network has access”

 

When I opened Network properties, under “Kaspersky Security Data Escort Adapter” there was an ethernet connection 2. I’ve since fixed it now I hope to just only myself having a connection, but can someone help explain what that was and why it did that?

 

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
