After installing Kaspersky Plus, I can't log in to Medium.com.When I click login, it stays unlogged. Since I bought Kaspersky 2 days ago, multiple problems have occurred. Can anyone help?

It seems like Kaspersky Plus may be interfering with Medium's login functionality. This can happen when security software blocks or alters web elements required for login, typically due to features like Private Browsing, Anti-Banner, or HTTPS scanning. Here's how to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

Steps to Resolve

  1. Check Kaspersky's Anti-Banner and Private Browsing:

    • Open Kaspersky Plus.
    • Go to Settings > Privacy Protection.
    • Temporarily disable Private Browsing and Anti-Banner.
    • Try logging in to Medium.com again.
  2. Disable HTTPS Scanning:

    • Open Kaspersky Plus.
    • Go to Settings > Network Settings.
    • Locate Scan encrypted connections and toggle it off.
    • Restart your browser and try logging in.
  3. Add Medium to Trusted Websites:

    • Open Kaspersky Plus.
    • Go to Settings > Threats and Exclusions > Manage exclusions.
    • Add https://medium.com as an exclusion.
    • Test the login again.
  4. Disable Browser Extensions:

    • If you have the Kaspersky Protection Extension enabled in your browser, temporarily disable it:
      • Open your browser.
      • Go to the extensions/add-ons menu.
      • Disable Kaspersky Protection.
    • Test Medium's login functionality.
  5. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies:

    • Open your browser settings.
    • Clear the cache and cookies, especially for Medium.com.
    • Retry the login.
  6. Switch Browsers or Incognito Mode:

    • Test the login on a different browser or in Incognito/Private mode to see if the issue persists.

If the Issue Persists

  • Contact Kaspersky Support:
    • Open Kaspersky Plus.
    • Go to Support > Contact Support.
    • Report the issue with detailed information, including your OS, browser, and version of Kaspersky Plus.

A user should not experience this. After just installing, I can't open a well-known website likeMedium.com.I tried all of the above, but I still can't log in. I checked the report, and it mentions something about Cloudflare being blocked. This is dumb.

It's frustrating when a security product creates roadblocks for well-known websites. If Cloudflare is mentioned in the Kaspersky report, it indicates that Kaspersky's security features are flagging requests to or through Cloudflare, which Medium uses for its infrastructure.

Here's a more targeted approach to resolving the issue:

Advanced Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Inspect the Kaspersky Report Details:

    • Open Kaspersky Plus.
    • Go to More Tools > Reports.
    • Locate the entry related to Medium.com or Cloudflare.
    • Check what exactly is being blocked (e.g., certificate issues, specific URLs).
    • Note the reason for the block.
  2. Disable Web Anti-Virus Temporarily:

    • Go to Settings > Protection > Web Anti-Virus.
    • Temporarily turn off this feature.
    • Try logging in to Medium.com.
    • If this works, Web Anti-Virus is overzealous in blocking Cloudflare traffic.
  3. Adjust Web Anti-Virus Settings:

    • If disabling Web Anti-Virus works, fine-tune the settings:
      • Go to Settings > Protection > Web Anti-Virus > Advanced Settings.
      • Add Medium.com to the Trusted URLs list.
      • Ensure the "Scan traffic from trusted websites" option is turned off for trusted sites.
  4. Check Cloudflare-Specific Blocks:

    • Add Cloudflare's domain to exclusions:
      • Go to Settings > Threats and Exclusions > Manage exclusions.
      • Add *.cloudflare.com to the exclusions list.
  5. Use a Custom Rule:

    • If Cloudflare's traffic is being flagged, try creating a rule:
      • Go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings.
      • Add a rule to exclude traffic for Medium.com and Cloudflare.com under Exclusions.
  6. Update Kaspersky Plus:

    • Ensure your Kaspersky Plus installation is fully up to date.
    • Check for any patches that might address web compatibility issues.
  7. Switch to an Alternative VPN/Network:

    • Cloudflare blocks or issues can sometimes arise from VPN use or network configuration.
    • Disable Kaspersky's VPN (if active) and test.

Escalation Options

If none of the above works:

  • Contact Kaspersky Support:

    • Provide them the report log, detailing the blocked requests.
    • Mention Cloudflare specifically as it may point to a broader compatibility issue.
  • Consider a Refund:

    • If this is a dealbreaker and Kaspersky doesn't resolve it promptly, consider escalating for a refund. Most companies offer refunds for early dissatisfaction.

I figured out the problem myself, which none of the support staff told me. Kaspersky should fire all of these clowns.
