As you can see from above, the option to use selective scan on folder/files is gone.

Although, i can still manually use selective scan on kaspersky menu. But this is pretty annoying since I have to navigate through the files again and I cant multi select the files i want to scan

Hello @N0013Gam3R

Welcome!

  1. Please read & follow the tutorial by @danila T.   Read before you create a new topic ?
  2. When did “the option to use selective scan on folder/files” disappear?
  3. In the Scan options, is Context Menu Scan → image 2, there & is it enabled?
  4. Has a reset of KAV been done?
  5. Has KAV been clean installed?

Please post back?

Thank you🙏

Hello @N0013Gam3R

Welcome!

  3. In the Scan options, is Context Menu Scan → image 2, there & is it enabled?
  4. Has a reset of KAV been done?
  5. Has KAV been clean installed?
  1. a. Windows 10
    b. i run on KAV  21.3.10.391
  2. I used my pc for like 3 days without internet so i didnt get to update KAV database but i just made some school documents within the 3 days and didnt do anything sketchy. After I connected to the internet and updated KAV, everything was working fine till I needed to scan some recently downloaded files. I noticed that the KAV options in the context menu are gone.
  3. IDK how to confirm if it is enabled or not but the option is certainly there.
    Scan from Context Menu Settings

  4. I restored the settings to default but still no fix
  5. No, this is my 2nd installation of it on the PC. I think it was a year ago when a virus disabled KAV somehow and fortunately, I manage to reinstall it from the site and remove the virus. Everything was working fine after that.

Hello @N0013Gam3R

Thank you for the information👌

You have confirmed Scan from context menu is correctly set👍

  1. Post a full screen, screen print showing what options are available if a single file is selected, not Windows User folder please?

Please post back?

Thank you🙏

I got in touch with technical support and they asked me to reinstall Kaspersky and that fixed the problem. I'm still not quite sure how the problem occurred though.

@N0013Gam3R Your fixed issue is related with file “ShellEx.dll” that contains the Kaspersky context menu settings.
