This is crazy!

I am having some trouble with a piece of software, I cannot get it to work as it should. I was told to disable AV/Security. So, I elected to pause control on premium. That was not allowed
to happen, and the only result was a dialog box telling me the confirmation window cannot be displayed. Operation cancelled. WTH! Multiple tries, same. So, as an extreme measure I tried to end it via task manager, and that was completely impossible. So, it looks like Kaspersky has total control over my machine

Can I override this?

I am now regretting this purchase.

Been a loyal Kasperky user for many years, because it has always done an exceptional job of protecting my machines, and in previous versions, - I think Total Security was my last version, I was able to pause it, or even totally stop it, if I wanted to, but this version is actively stopping me doing that, which, IMHO is not acceptable

Maybe it is a simple thing I have to do, but it is frustrating that the app isn't helping me, and so this dialog is quite an irritation.

Not being able to stop or pause is not good, and it is stopping me making progress. I cannot find how to stop it starting with windows.

I may end up uninstalling it, which I really don't want to do, but now I have discovered that it has taken control away from me, then I am less keen to use it.

I would appreciate any assistance to help to end this nightmare

Hello @markoone, welcome.

I'm sorry you're having this problem. But I can assure you that this is not normal. Either your installation did not run correctly or something is preventing Kaspersky from opening dialog windows. After clicking on 'Pause protection' you should be asked if you really want to do this. If a password is set, you will also be asked for it.

Have you already tried uninstalling/reinstalling?
This is often the quickest solution for GUI problems...
