Hi.

Somehow I have some KES10 Files on my  D Drive (NTFS) which I can not delete.

These Files are not from any actual installation, I setup the system with Win10 on Drive C: where I installed the actual KAV2020.

On Drive D are only Files from old/last Windows installation.

I tried to set all permissions to user to delete the file and tried it via CMD but can not delete these files!

D:\___alles\DOWNLOADS>rmdir /s "not_deleteable"

Interesting is that Windows says: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.  ????  these files are only trash from old installation how can they be used by another process??

Any ideas how to get rid of it ?!

thx

The KaVremover only find my actual KAV2020 installation on my newly installed win10.

the problem files are on drive D !! So there is no registry entry for those files but aomehow they are protected ?!

It is related to your incomplete installation of windows and KES10. Best practice is that if you are planning to install two different AV product, then remove it completely with an uninstaller tool that cleans it from system areas before installing new one.

And since you’ve also mentioned that two different windows directory were used on two different products, authorizing issue have arised.

I did not install two different AV Version!

I setup a new Win10 system and installed KAV2020 on DRIVE C

I have a DRIVE D (with data only on it) and there are upper mentioned KAV Files which I can not delete. What I need is an advise how I can delete these without formatting the drive.

You mention KES10 on your first thread and KAV2020 later. Both are different products.

Anyways, you can take ownership of the folders that you want to delete from windows NTFS file permissions by going to security tab on folder properties.

That was the first thing I tried… did not work. Think there are more NTFS permissions set.

Hi,

Since you are not actually using KES10, you can boot at Safe mode and delete these files anually or using kavremover utility.

Thank you!

Thanks for the answer but even in SAFE MODE i was not able to delete those files and KAV Remover only shows my KAV2020 installation on DRIVE C but nothing from DRIVE D (where some files of an old KES10) exist in a Folder).. Think I have to copy my files to another drive and format D
