Application 'Anki' blocked by Kaspersky

All, I'm getting network issues (potentially blocked traffic) when starting an application. It is synchronising with its backend component.

When I pause Kaspersky and start the app it is possible to sync with no issues.

So I've added the application to the "Manage exclusions" section. Actually the whole folder where the application is installed. Still when starting it the block persists and I cannot synchronise.

Please let me know what further steps I need to add to totally exclude the application from any scan or block of Kaspersky.

Thanks.

Hello @anmatr

Welcome!

  1. Kaspersky Total Security is Kaspersky's *old* software - it's been replaced by Kaspersky's new generation software; Kaspersky is offering a *free, like-for-like* upgrade to Kaspersky Plus Read Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium - info & FAQ, by Danila T.
  2. Kaspersky Plus installer can be downloaded here: https://www.kaspersky.com/downloads#update-product
  3. *After* Installing Kaspersky Plus, make sure (you) log into the Kaspersky Plus *application* with the same email address that's used to log into (your) MyKaspersky account.
  4. *After* installing & signing into Kaspersky Plus, shutdown the computer using SHUTDOWN, not restart, when the computer is OFF -> power ON by pressing the power button, login, recheck the original issue?
  5. IF it persists - post back a full-screen, screen-print of the *exclusions* (you've) added -> note: hide any personal information *and* IF the Kaspersky GUI is not in English, please do the following to *temporarily-change* the GUI interface to English -> press key combination SHIFT + F12 - to revert -> press SHIFT + F5, also, a system start/restart reverts the GUI to the original language.

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?

Thank you🙏

I've replaced Kaspersky Total Security with Kaspersky Plus and removed all references to Anki application and URL(s). It works now with the new Kaspersky Plus.

Seems that Kaspersky Total Security has some restrictions on the application which cannot be configured.

Thanks.

Hello @anmatr

You're most welcome!

Thank you for the update!

Actually v21.3 had some issues that sometimes resulted in similar reports as (you) presented - for the majority - an effective solution has been to upgrade to the *new* version. We're delighted to read the issue is resolved, well done👏🏼

Thank you🙏
