The solution does not work at least for Honkai: Star Rail, regardless of the tunneling mode, every other connection works follows the app tunneling properly. I have to turn it off, log into the game and then turn it on again for it to work. KIS 21.19.7.527

  1. The *solution* is *only* for Kaspersky AV software -> version 21.3*
  2. The *solution* is not designed for version 21.19*
  3. The *solution* has nothing to do with Kaspersky VPN & or tunneling. 
  4. There is no KIS 21.19.7.527; Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) has been replaced by Kaspersky Standard. Kaspersky is offering a free upgrade, please read:  Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium - info & FAQ, by Danila T.
  5. In that Honkai: Star Rail screen-print, what shows when View details is selected? 
  6. Which Windows OS & *build*, in Windows Search, type WINVER, open the WINVER app & post back the information shown please?

Thank you for clarification, i've been haphazardly looking for the solution everywhere that even remotely mentions anything close. I do have the Secure Connection sub, so i thought those are the same thing
I noticed that sometimes it changes to Global Distribution error, which is what i got just now, although i don't know the exact pattern

The thing that makes me confused is that it even ignores the following tunnelling settings. It shouldn't even be disrupting normal connection, but it seemingly does. I am currently in contact with their support team and waiting for the answer for the time being. What's interesting is that there are no issues like this whatsoever on my phone: i set it up to not use VPN there and it works like a charm

Thank you for posting back & the information. There's absolutely no need to apologise; we were concerned (you're) using a solution that is not targeted for (your) specific issue. 

  1. Just for clarification, *which* Kaspersky Anti-Virus software is installed, on Windows Taskbar *Hidden icons*, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About - the About screen will show the name (& the version number: 21.19.7.527)
  2. Is the Kaspersky VPN on all the time? 
  3. Which Kaspersky VPN remote virtual server is selected / active? 
  4. On the PC, is the network from cable connection OR wifi? 
  5. In Kaspersky Reports, are there any Honkai: Star Rail events OR any events related to that application? 
  6. In the Honkai: Star Rail *launcher* have you used the Verify resources option? 
  7. Have the game providers verified that the servers are available?

No antivirus software installed alongside it, only Windows Defender is active. I only have VPN app installed - which is 21.19.7.527
It's on all the time - though i've only started using it yesterday
The fastest connection for me is to Ukraine, but i've been testing it with Germany/Poland as well
My router is connected with a cable to my PC
If you are referring to log files in Kaspersky Lab\KSDE5.19\Traces then i'm unable to see the  contents of SRV.log files - however, i'm able to inspect the GUI.log ones, and only saw the following related to it:HSRerror.thumb.png.86b036c381386c0c1f50445496963a76.png

I will try, however i doubt this will yield anything, considering that it only doesn't accept logging in in any of their games - Zenless Zone Zero and Genshin Impact straight up crash. Other games requiring internet - such as Dota or Hitman 3 - work without issue with or without VPN
Yes, they have the diagnostic tool to determine connectivity - first two nodes fail regardless of whether the VPN is connected or not

Maybe there's a way i can limit inbound/outbound connections between the two apps specifically? I've had an issue with another game a long time ago that had mandatory connection to geoblocked service that i did not need and i solved it by forbidding the outbound connection from the game entirely via Firewall, but i have no clue if i can do so with specific addresses or appsgain

  1. Kaspersky Reports are available is Kaspersky's Home AV range; there's no such feature for the Kaspersky VPN. 
  2. IF VPN traces have been activated please ensure to end the tracing when you're done - trace files can be huge & can impede system performance (IF people forget they're running). 
  3. So at the moment the VPN is set to Fastest server - is that correct? 
  4. In Split tunneling -> Honkai: Star Rail -> should be *added* as Apps that never connect via VPN
  5. & change the VPN Protocol to Catapult Hydra. 
  6. Unfortunately configuring Windows Firewall is out-of-scope for the Kaspersky Forum. 
  • Are (you) now saying two other games from the same provider are also not working? IF the answer is 'yes', (ioo), the issue is not the Kaspersky VPN, but, you're more than welcome to log a request with Kaspersky Customer Service, https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts - select either Chat or Email, then fill in the template as shown; include a *detailed history
  • *Also* -> IF using Chat - *before* ending the chat -> ask the operator to email (you) a copy of the chat transcript - otherwise (you'll) have no record of the chat*

Already tried both whitelist and blacklist methods: I've also added everything game/launcher related - in fact the Apps that never connect via VPN seems to be the one setting that triggers Server distribution error, while Apps that always connect via VPN triggers the Global distribution error. I've just installed the AV - no license however as i don't plan on switching AVs - and there doesn't seem to be any other logs in any tab besides the AV task starting - unless there's something i've not set up
