Android: switch of user profiles forces to enter Kaspersky parent password

Dear all,

I was not able to find a solution for this if exists.

I am using SafeKids Premium on Android 11 tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (and other PC devices).

On that device I have two accounts, both under SafeKids supervision (not under FamilyLink). Each of the profiles has its own android PIN. Each time I am trying to switch the user of Android, SafeKids asks me on popup to first login to Kaspersky account by entering the whole (pretty complex in my case) password.

This is really not comfortable, while the complex password I have to first search in my key vault. I somehow understand preventing the switch from SafeKids user to possible parent user in time the parent user has no PIN set. But if there would be at least choice in settings to skip it.

So, is there any possibility to skip the SafeKids autorization when switching android accounts?

Thanks for any advice!

Hello @blaha

Welcome!

On Android devices, KSK is designed to be used by one child only.

The issue was previously logged with Kaspersky KSK HQ experts, their advice is as follows:

quote

KSK for Android app is restricted to 1 child per device only. It is made like this so that a child doesn't try to bypass Safe Kids restrictions by changing profiles.”

end quote

Thank you🙏

Ok, thanks for quick respense. I understand. On the other hand it might be pretty usuall for tablet to be shared by multiple kids.

Anyway would be there any possibility in future at least simplify the user switch to authorize by PIN only? It works in this way when I launch tha SafeKids on parents device. Not the password….

Thank you.

Hello @blaha,

You’re most welcome?!

By design, KSK, on a child’s android device, is for one child only.

(ioo), Kaspersky will not be changing this, for the reasons provided above.

KSK on a parent device has completely different functionality, how KSK functions on a parent device, cannot be compared to how KSK functions on a child’s device.

You may wish to log a FeedbackI have a suggestion, or FeedbackI have a complaint request with Kaspersky Technical Support

  • Note: not all requests are realised, for those that are, Kaspersky may take a long time, sometimes a very long time, to do so.
  • Heads-up: going on their current management of Feedback incidents, Kaspersky will log the request, then, at some time, close the request, telling you:  “you may contact us again in the future in regards to the issue. As of now, it's hard for us to say how long will it take to implement them because all features are planned and evaluated way in advance. But do keep an eye out for updates!” → “Contact us again in the future”,  will require you to log a new request. “Keep an eye out”, would be totally unnecessary, if Kaspersky fully documented all changes.
  • ➡ When it’s available, please share the outcome with the Community?

Thank you🙏
