  1. As it happens, it appears that subject to no further instances of the program “locking up,” that is the cause--if Kaspersky determines that there is “incompatible” software installed on your device, it disables itself after a short period, clicking on any item will not work; if this is correct, until the “incompatible” software is uninstalled. This is pending continuing proper functionality. I totally do not believe that it is anything but Kaspersky essentially disabling itself in protest of the existence on the same device of another product which it has deemed incompatible (you do not have to have run the offensive program in years and it can be totally innocuous--not competing AV, or God forbid say Comodo Free Firewall--it is also possible that this is only occurring in the Kaspersky Security Cloud Free version).

  3. I also noticed that another user had the same issue, and it was suggested to uninstall, and reinstall to that user. Why doesn’t the installation update upon launch, if so configured? That is the main thing which I want to do anyway, update at least daily.

After logon, opening Kaspersky Security Cloud Free a hand appears when hovering on the item attempting to click, for example, Update, Details, More Tools, or Scan, but no response when I click the item. Uninstalling and reinstalling only gets Kaspersky Security Cloud Free to work a day or two, then no response again, a day or two later. I have uninstalled repeatedly to no avail. Please advise? Is this the end of the road for this installation/product? This software works fine on another computer, but without being able to update it--the update upon program open setting doesn’t work--it doesn’t update automatically upon program opening at new startup.
