  1. OMG @Flood and Flood's wife! First of all, this table is awesome! I couldn’t find it before, but that’s exactly what I had been looking for! That said I would have NEVER guessed that the System Watcher thing is what includes the ransomware protection. So good thing you’ve informed me of this now I can even more fully appreciate the comparison table, which I’ve bookmarked (for my own reference and also to share with friends, family, etc.). Second of all WOW you really nailed it with the System Watcher thing! This allowed me to go in my own settings and find the System Watcher section. And truth be told, it was there all along! I guess I just couldn’t read (or was looking for a specifically-named ransomware section). Here is the ultimate, most definitive proof for all future users that Kaspersky Security Cloud — Free includes ransomware protection (credit goes to @Flood and Flood's wife): I hope this answer/thread can be helpful in the future and be referenced to new users asking the same question.
  2. Thank you @Flood and Flood's wife for those photos! Indeed I am in Canada so that is why I must have been redirected. The photo of the whole page is very helpful. Although the ransomware bit doesn’t appear in the table (which would have been the best because it would unambiguously include the free version), there is a tiny mention in an earlier paragraph: Get what you need to fight off viruses, worms, Trojans, malware, ransomware and other hidden dangers. I suppose we’ll have to do with that. The only reason I am generally wary is that often for marketing reasons software companies will promote features that actually are only for premium or pro versions and will not clearly signify that a free version doesn’t include it. Therefore users will take the free version thinking they have the feature, while they don’t. We can’t really say here that it is unambiguous… Indeed it’s not stated clearly whether that feature applies to ALL products or just the paid products… If it was common sense that ransomware protection was included in most antiviruses that would be a non-issue; unfortunately, many other antivirus software require the paid version to access the ransomware protection. This is the only reason I am in doubt. If only they had worded it as @Berny earlier on this thread then I would be satisfied: All Kaspersky security products are protecting you against Ransomware Well THAT would be unambiguous. I would only need to read that anywhere on Kaspersky’s official website to be in peace.
  3. The link provided (https://www.kaspersky.com/free-cloud-antivirus) doesn’t work anymore. It automatically redirects to the home page. I wonder if there’s another official page still available stating that our free version includes ransomware protection. It’s not that I don’t trust you guys but if something goes wrong I don’t want to have only to refer to this thread to say that “I was supposed to have the protection”. Thanks so much!
