Hi,

 

I have Microsoft Edge on my Windows 10 laptop and desktop protected by Kaspersky when browsing.

Why does Kaspersky only support Chrome on Android for protection when browsing when both are Chromium based?

Welcome!

  1.   KIS, Android: Supported browsers, Internet Protection checks websites in Google Chrome.
  2. KIS also supports the browser shipped with the phone, for example, if the phone is a Samsung, KIS will support native Samsung browser, Huawei Android → native Huawei browser etc. 
  3. Is KIS Premium or Free?

I'm still not understanding. Kaspersky supports Chrome, Samsung browser, etc but not Edge. 

Why?

Is it on the roadmap to support Edge on Android?

Kaspersky’s development team are the people who have the information.

For another, similar request, we’ve been asking since we first logged a case, 29th December, 2018; on the 14th of December, 2020, when we last sought an update, we were advised:

A suggestion to implement support of all Chromium-based browsers has been proposed to our developer. Right now, it's hard for us to say how long it will take to implement them because all features are planned and evaluated the way in advance.

In part, to determine how “popular” a request is, Kaspersky appears to rely upon Kaspersky subscriber requests, to that end, log a request with Kaspersky Technical Support, follow our template below. The more requests they receive, the greater the possibility, the requested feature, may materialise...

 

 

  • After submitting the case, you’ll receive an automated email with an INC+12digits reference number, then, normally, within 5 business days, a Kaspersky Technical Support human will communicate with you, also by email, you may continue to engage with the Kaspersky Technical Team via email or by updating the INC in your MyKaspersky account.
  • Note: historically, changes / development, may take a long time & not all requests are successful.
  • When you receive feedback from the Development team & or when the change has been implemented, please share the information with the Community?
