why can't KIS be configured to allow FaceTime but not other apps. I either have to leave webcam on or disable the "off" feature every time i want to use FaceTime . This should be an option under settings.

Please tell us:

1. Operating system name & version ? 
2. KIS version & patch(x) ? x = letter
3. Is FaceTime an installed app? If “yes”, please tell us the FaceTime version? 
4. When you try to use FaceTime, and the problem happens, are there any “visible” errors? If “yes”, may we have images please?
5. In KIS Reports, are there any FaceTime errors? If “yes”, please export the Report & 📎 attach to your reply?

Mac Book Pro 13” Early 2011

FaceTime Version 4.9 (3080) Installed by default as part of the os.

If the camera is blocked from the KIS privacy page and then FaceTime is opened the following:

If the Face Time App is then shut down, and the camera unblocked from the KIS privacy page:

Note in respect of Attachment 1 there is also a KIS banner that pops out from screen right saying the camera is blocked, i just wasn't quick enough to capture it in the screen shot.

Additionally, if the camera is enabled and then disabled with FaceTime still active, the camera continues to work, but on the next opening of FaceTime it is again blocked.

The following Kaspersky information explains how KIS manages WebCam in a Mac environment (and why the issue you’re reporting, is occuring):

Applications installed on the Mac may use the web camera without your permission. With Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac, you can block unauthorized access to your web camera for applications. 

Access will be blocked for all installed applications. It is not possible to block web camera access for specific applications. 

**In reverse, it’s not possible to grant permission to  Facetime and exclude other apps**

**Also: If the application that you want to block is running when you block the webcam, you need to restart this application** - this explains the second condition you report. 

Facetime is listed as an application compatible with web camera protection component of Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac.
