What does it mean when it says badge value 2 has access to this site?

Hello @shwalsh64

Welcome!

  1. Which KIS version & patch(x) x=letter, is installed?
  2. Which application is showing “badge value 2 has access to this site?” ?
  3. May we have a full screen image of “badge value 2 has access to this site” alert please?

Please post back?

Thank you🙏

When using Kaspersky Safe Money and opening a site, the green little badge at the right top shows a variable number and when I click on it, it notes “badge value(x) has access to this site”.  Sorry but i don’t know how to give you a screen image.

Hello @shwalsh64

Thank you for posting back with the information🙏

  1. Which KIS version & patch(x) x=letter, is installed please? → on the Windows taskbar, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About

To take a screen print, open the window/app to be captured, press the PrtScr key (normally top right of the Keyboard), open Paint, select Paste, Save the file, attach to your reply, using the Paperclip icon 📎 , however, when SafeMoney/Protected browser is running, screen prints cannot be taken, it’s a security measure implemented by Kaspersky to protect any financial information that may show, so you need to take an image with another device, a mobile phone for example, we’ve taken an image and cannot see “badge value(x) has access to this site

Please post back?

Thank you🙏

Hello @shwalsh64

Found it🤸

You’d make an excellent detective🕵 , that was not easy to find👏

  • Interestingly, it’s in the Edge Chromium browser, not Chrome & not Firefox and the issue is replicable in the Standard browser, does not have to be in Protected browser mode:

  • We have no idea what “badge value(x)+ has access to this site” means, at first we thought it may be related to the AB or PB count, but it’s not…
  • Information from MS: Badge notifications for Windows apps, it would be good to know what it means in the Kaspersky world🤔

Let’s ask @Anton Mefodys or @Igor Kurzin → they will know, they know everything!

Thank you🙏

  • Solution

Hello @shwalsh64

We discussed the issue with a Kaspersky SME, in a nutshell BV(x)+ is based on:

  1. Websites attempt to trace/log/capture information from people who use the sites;
  2. Kaspersky Protection extension → Private Browsing captures the tracing attempts.
  3. Kaspersky Protection extension → Anti Banner blocks banners, does not "manage" any tracing.
  4. The BV(x)+ value is the accumulated total of both PB & AB:

The SME could not explain why BV(x)+ shows in Edge Chromium but not Firefox or Chrome, he’s asking Russia, we will update.

Thank you🙏
