Using VPN on PS5?

Hello!

I am using Kaspersky VPN and I am pretty happy with it. Discord isn't available in Turkey currently so I am using the vpn more than usual. I want to use the vpn on my ps5 also. Is there any way to do that?

I was thinking maybe you can explore with PC-based workarounds.

Might work might not fun trying though.

Below are maybe effective methods that will allow you to share your Kaspersky VPN connection to the PS5.

Option 1: Share VPN via a Mobile Hotspot (Windows/Mac)

If your PC has Wi-Fi, you can share the Kaspersky VPN connection through a hotspot.

On Windows:

1. Activate Kaspersky VPN on your PC.
2. Set Up a Mobile Hotspot:
   • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Hotspot.
   • Enable Share my Internet connection with other devices.
   • Choose the network you want to share (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
3. Enable Sharing for VPN:
   • Go to Network & Internet > Change Adapter Options.
   • Right-click your active VPN connection and select Properties.
   • Under the Sharing tab, check Allow other network users to connect and choose the hotspot from the dropdown.
4. Connect your PS5 to the new Wi-Fi hotspot.

On Mac:

1. Turn on Kaspersky VPN on your Mac.
2. Go to System Preferences > Sharing > Internet Sharing.
3. Choose Wi-Fi as the method for sharing.
4. Enable Internet Sharing by checking the box.
5. Connect PS5 to the Mac’s shared Wi-Fi.

Option 2: Use an Ethernet Cable (Windows/Mac)

You can use your PC to pass the VPN connection to your PS5 through Ethernet without changing router settings.

Setup Process:

1. Activate Kaspersky VPN on your PC or Mac.
2. Connect the PS5 to your PC or Mac using an Ethernet cable.
3. Share the VPN Connection:
   • On Windows:
     • Go to Network & Internet > Change Adapter Options.
     • Right-click on the active VPN connection → Properties.
     • Under the Sharing tab, allow network sharing and select the Ethernet connection.
   • On Mac:
     • Go to System Preferences > Sharing > Internet Sharing.
     • Select your active VPN connection and enable sharing through Ethernet.
4. Connect your PS5 to the network through LAN settings.

Option 3: Use a VPN-Enabled Hotspot on Your Phone

If your phone also has Kaspersky VPN installed, you can create a hotspot directly from it.

1. Activate Kaspersky VPN on your phone.
2. Create a Hotspot:
   • On Android: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Hotspot & Tethering.
   • On iPhone: Go to Settings > Personal Hotspot.
3. Connect your PS5 to the mobile hotspot.

These options let you use your Kaspersky VPN on the PS5 without touching your router settings also.

The easiest method might be sharing your VPN via a mobile hotspot or Ethernet connection.
