USA Central, VPN, Laptop, unusual behavior

I have been traveling lately and have been using the Kaspersky VPN for the unauthenticated hotel wifi. The standard stuff. 

I seem to be having issues specifically with USA Central server. For instance, I had to go to American Airlines website. www[.]aa[.]com. However, I could not get to the American website and instead kept autodirecting to the Brazilian page. www[.]aa[.]com[.]br 

Additionally, I had noticed some other odd behavior with redirects when visiting other websites. Has anyone else noticed this behavior? Had any similar issues?
