I just tried to update K-Premium database, no joy.

I am unfamiliar with that but does that have Kaspersky VPN? If so, turn that on. That's what I did. It went to a server in Netherlands, not US as before. After updating using that, the program was able to update automatically without the VPN on.

On the networks that I have built using Ubiquiti UDM-Pro routers,

with VPN's set up to route all Kaspersky traffic through a non-US

nation, all our updates go without a hitch, as they did before the

illegitimate Biden regime's unconstitutional, didn't-go-through-courts

Kaspersky ban.

I do imagine that Trump will undo such nonsense & overreach.

Seems to be updating automatically now here in the US. Anyone else notice this?

I dont notice this since my USA license has expired, but I guess it works if your license is still active? I do hope Trump will undo this Biden nonsense of banning Kaspersky. I understand the need to not use it in government PCs, but seriously why regulating personal PCs? What antivirus software I use is my own choice, Biden should stick his nose out of this business.

My license is still active and I got another automatic update a few hours ago. I'm so glad I don't have fire up a VPN to do a manual update every day now.

Thats great, but what happens when your license expires and cannot renew it? Right now I have this problem and I am trying to purchase a global license from a Latin American country to bypass the US ban, though I was told that the app may not work properly in USA. With your information, it seems that it can still work as long as I can buy and activate the license, this sounds promising.

"Hall of Famer," if you use a VPN to route through some European country, you can also

buy licenses through the same VPN as if you were in / from that country.  That's how you

can buy new licenses when your current ones run out.

For days I've been trying to update and there seems to be NOTHING I can do to update.

No matter how many times I click on "run update."

Connect to server and nothing is downloaded.

In Arizona US.

Hello @ChristineAZ

Welcome!

In the US, as of September 30th, 2024, Kaspersky was banned, please read: Guide on Kaspersky software availability in the United States:

Database update and connectivity to Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) cloud service: Kaspersky will be prohibited from providing product updates to US customers, including antivirus signature and codebase updates. Security apps will be disconnected from Kaspersky Security Network, which will limit the operation of some product features

To continue to use Kaspersky, receive databases updates etc., (you'll) need to use a VPN - set at a *remote-virtual-location* outside of the US

A number of other Kaspersky subscribers have successfully done this & posted comments - either in this topic or other similar topics in the Forum, for example: roscoloLanuloswalz04736

*Also* Kaspersky's VPN is provided by the Pango Group, situated outside of the US & appears to be excluded from the ban.

IF (you) need help, please log a request with Kaspersky Customer Service,  https://support.kaspersky.com/us/b2c/us#contacts - select Email, then fill in the template as shown; include a *detailed history*.  || Please fill-in (your) Kaspersky application from the drop-down list available (A)     image.thumb.png.7f6d02bf541efaa104dfd127e99ba000.png

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?

Thank you🙏

I'm sorry, I can't do this VPN stuff.   Have nothing but computer problems, waiting for a new keyboard, the very last thing I need is more computer crap.

Just decided to wrap up my projects in the US and get the hell out while we still can.

I work both inside and outside the USA. I tried to update Kaspersky with my USA license which expires in 19 days. Denied. I tried with my Middle East license... and I'll be OK when I purchase it in 18 days; I once purchased Kas by mistake, and that version expired before I even used it (no "stacking"). I also have a great VPN, so I'll use that to update while in the USA. I thought it was ILLEGAL for me to keep using Kaspersky. No, it's just blocked, not illegal. So, I'm good.
