How do i block or blacklist https://m.stripe.network/ from opening? This site is driving me crazy as it opens whenever I go to the next lesson on a couple learning sites. Not only does it open all by itself, but it opens in the protected browser.

Hello @Jolene

Welcome back!

  • Is m.stripe.network configured in Safe Money
  • Is the problem happening in every Supported browser: Edge Chromium, Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Yandex?
  • Have any extensions, addons or themes been recently added or updated to any browser?

Please let us know?

Thank you🙏

Hi Flood!

Thanks for replying.

Yes, it does happen on every browser: Google Chrome, Opera, Firefox, Edge. I generally use Chrome and had cut out all my extensions and my browser version is up to date.

As for Safe Money, it’s not on my list. But a web search for m.stripe/network told me it was used for payments, so I’m not sure it is allowed because of that.

However it is only showing up when I access a couple learning sites where I have a subscription. It shows up when there is nothing to do with payments.

And the strange thing is I just tried to site (scrimba.com) on my new Samsung tablet using Chrome and didn’t have the same problem.

Hello @Jolene

Thanks for posting back👌

m.stripe.network is a payment gateway, however, it should not be being pushed from other sites, even those you’re subscribed to, unless you’re activating a payment of some kind.

1 Create a System restore point
2Reset all browsers to default→ exit all browsers.
3Reset KTS to default
4 Shutdown the machine using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login, make sure KTS is started?
5 Run a manual Database update → allow it to complete.
6 Recheck scrimba or the other sites that m.stripe.network was happening, if it persists:
7 Add m.stripe.network blocked exclusion to:
[a] Web Anti-virus
Private browsing
[c] Anti-banner
8 Shutdown the machine using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login, make sure KTS is started?
9 Recheck scrimba or the other sites that m.stripe.network was happening?

Please let us know the outcome?

Thank you🙏

Thank you for this solution Flood.  I was having the same, annoying issue as Jolene when browsing the bringatrailer.com site using both Chrome and Edge.  (I was not trying to bid - only looking.)

I executed steps 2 - 5 and it seems to have resolved the issue.

How do I “Reset KTS”?  Also how do I execute Step 7.  I can see how to set up exclusions that bypass checking for the specified sites, but not how to do a “blocked exclusion”

Thanks in advance...

To reset KTS: from most all screens select the settings gear at bottom left; choose manage settings and select restore.  I’ve not done it on my system, so post feedback if you try it.

I’ve no idea how to do blocked exclusions in step 7.  I’ll be interested to read how to perform this process.

BTW, not a peep from m.stripe.network since I performed steps 2-5 six days ago!

I did in fact reset KTS (step 3).  Create a system restore point (step 1) I’ve not done.

Thank you, race115, for your answers to my questions.  I was able to follow steps 3-6 and that fixed it.  For me, doing the blocked exclusions in Step 7 wasn’t needed.    m.stripe.network no longer loads.

The same thing happened to me when I clicked this link: https,//ca.childrenshealthdefense,org/home-page/breast-feeding-infant-dies-after-mother-receives-covid-shot-devastating-outcomes-in-pregnant-and-lactating-women-following-experimental-vaccines/

It opens up a new window in protected browsing.

I understand the steps as described above in the main answer but I don’t understand why it is happening. I would appreciate if someone more knowledgeable on this subject could explain why the additional page is opening (I have pop-up blockers/add blockers etc. running).

Hello @Otly

Welcome!

  1. Post full screen images of the issue please?
  2. Which Kaspersky Total Security version & patch(x) is installed → in Windows hidden icons, right click Kaspersky icon, select About
  3. Which browser is the problem happening in?

Hello @Flood,

Appreciate your response. To answer your questions:

  1. I only get the first screen that you provided from your test (see below and the protected window).
  2. Kaspersky Total Security 21.2.16.590 (c) - © 2020 AO Kaspersky Lab
  3. The Browser with the issue is Firefox. It seems to work normally in Brave (I don’t get any pop-up for Brave).

Hello @Otly

You’re most welcome☺ !

Thank you for posting back & the information👌

  1. In your first question you asked “can someone explain why the additional page is opening?”, but now you say, “I only get the first screen/in protected browser”; so we’re a little confused; this topic is about redirects to a payment portal stripe; but, you appear not to have those & you appear to be reporting a difference issue → please clarify for us?
  2. Brave is not supported by Kaspersky.
  3. Which browser is your System DEFAULT browser
  4. KTS is up to version  21.3.10.391 uninstall  21.2.16.590 ©, save LICENSE information ONLY, do not tick any other check boxes.
  5. Make sure the REBOOT step is done at the end of the uninstall?
  6. Login.
  7. Check the system for any applications incompatible with KTS ?
  8. Download version 21.3.10.391, install, at the completion of the installation, shutdown the system using Shutdown, not Restart; power on, login, make sure KTS is running?
  9. Run a manual Database update → make sure patch(a) has been applied ?
  10. Run a manual Full scan → allow it to complete?
  11. Recheck issue & let us know the outcome please?

Thank you🙏

Hello @Flood,

To go over your points:

  1. Clarification: the issue only occurs when I use Firefox, i.e. the protected window only opens when I use Firefox. When I use Brave it seems to work normally (although in your example you received a pop-up for a guide). I don’t get any pop-up with Brave.
  2. OK.
  3. System default browser is Firefox.
  4. I uninstalled the old version and installed the new version 21.3.10.391.
  5. Done.
  6. Done.
  7. Verified there are no incompatible applications.
  8. Done.
  9. Patch (a) is installed.
  10. Full scan completed.
  11. Rechecking the issue I get the same result as you, i.e. the page opens normally and I get the pop-up for the guide. Looks like the issue is now solved but I still don’t understand the reason it happened. Anyway I don’t want to take up more of your time to further investigate. There are probably more important things for you to work on 🙂 .

Thank you so much @Otly for posting the original issue and @Flood and Flood's wife for posting the solution.  Like @Otly I followed Flood’s instructions to a T and made the dreaded m.stripe.network  protected browser page opening go away.  The page would open when viewing a range of pages including musical instrument sale sites.  BTW…  I’m in Australia and often need to consult the Australian Choice online magazine (an independent product review site).  Well, it got pretty darned annoying having the dreaded page open up everytime I clicked on a review link within that website.  It was particularly sensitive and bad with that site.  I have tried this a few times since the fix and it’s gone - sheer bliss!  Thank you so much from Downunder, the drinks are on me  🍾🥂😀

Just add this in packet rules in Kaspersky firewall and set it to block inbound and outbound then you will never see it:

m.stripe.network

stripe.network is getting very annoying and privacy threat which create those pop-ups when you visit each website.
blocking this damn thing is the best solution right now.

I cannot figure out how to prevent m.strip.net from popping up on some sites in Kaspersky Internet Security Ver. 21.3.10.391.

Tried following the instructions on “Unwanted connection to the site to no avail.

If someone knows how to get rid of this “popup(?)” can you please post instructions for Internet Security?

Thanks
