Hello,

 

I’m using Kaspersky Security Cloud on my laptop (Dell XPS 15 7590) and I’m suffering from a bug.

The first time I’ve restarted my PC after installing KSC I’ve noticed that after I log in to my account the screen stays black. I could see the cursor moving around and my BT devices got connected as usual but the PC wasn’t usable.

I found a work-around but the problem exists everytime I start up the PC.

The work-around in the meantime is:

  1. Log-in.
  2. Encounter black screen.
  3. CTRL+ALT+DEL.
  4. Sign-out from the account.
  5. Sign back in to the account.
  6. Screen isn’t black anymore.

I’ve searched the web and found different posts from several years with the same problem.

If anyone else suffers from this bug I hope this work-around helps you.

I would like the problem to be resolved or at least get guidance towards solving it.

Can you please add info about KSC? (version with patch)

Hello @Zwick,

Additional to @nexon’s reply, the topic you’ve referred to is for Kaspersky Safe Kids, which is not a Kaspersky AV product.

  1. Before installing Kaspersky Security Cloud was a software compatibilty check run?
  2. May we have a GSI & Windows Logs please?

Hello @Zwick!

Do I understand correcrlky that you are also using Safe Kids application on the PC with the issue?

If so, then this issue must be fixed in one of the next patches for Safe Kids.

@FLOOD I’ve installed all the features and applications included in the KSC bundle, including Kaspersky Safe Kids (I referred to KSC as to the subscription with all it’s services).

Sorry if it caused any misunderstanding.

Regarding 1 and 2;

  1. I’m still using Malwarebytes in addition to KSC.
  2. I’ll do it soon and I’ll upload the results (logs).

 

@Anton Mefodys You indeed understand correctly. I’m glad this issue is known and going to be fixed soon.

Same issue on all devices that are windows based, this isn’t limited to a single spec machine it varies.

Just for the record, currently:

  • Kaspersky Security Cloud is version 20.0.14.1085(j)
  • Kaspersky Safe Kids is version 1.0.5.4848(d)

They are the versions I am running, I had to uninstall safe kids from my laptop to make it usable again.
