I just have a general question about safe money.

 

If I open a protected window, will I be protected from potentially malicious add-ons (Firefox) and extensions (Chrome)??

No! 

The Safe Money browser has no technology to detect if there’s a problem with add-ons, & or extensions, that’s not the function of the Safe money browser. 

However, if KIS is configured correctly, and has an active license, other elements of the software are designed to offer protection from potentially malicious addons or extensions.
