[RESOLVED] Activation code incompatible after windows 10 updates

Hi and a happy new year.

I have a problem regarding the license for my antivirus software.

My license is applicable for the version 20.0.14.1085. Kaspersky automatically updates along with windows 10 to the most recent version (currently 21.2.16.590b), for which i receive the following error:

The code is incompatible with the installed application.

I know a possible solution is to reinstall the former version and reactivate it. I already did that several times and it works for a time. The problem is that every time these version updates occur, i get the error and have to start all over again.

What can I do in this situation?

Do I have to reinstall the former version every time this happens?

Is there any way to stop this update from happening at all?

Thanks!

you can stop the update by doing the following:

1. Disable Self-Defense
2. Exit Kaspersky product
3. Add the following parameters in system registry:
For x64 systems:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\KasperskyLab\AVP20.0\environment (20.0, or 21.1, or, 21.2 - depending on the version you have installed)
add a STRING parameter IsVersionUpdateEnabled with value 0.
For x86 systems:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\AVP20.0\environment
add a STRING parameter IsVersionUpdateEnabled with value 0.
4. Start Kaspersky product
5. Enable Self-defense

Thanks to  Igor Kurzin for the above info in this thread.

So far so good.

I’m really curious of the next win.10 update

Thanks!

Hi!

I did both the reg. edit and request technical support. The license had been updated so the issue shouldn’t appear anymore. It currently works on 21.2.16.590 (b), when it previously hasn’t.

Many thanks to both of you!
