Renewal questions, EU and Slovenia.

Aside from making a long-distance phone call to Support, I find myself in the same predicament.

When I click on Renew button, I get a notification that I can’t renew online and I am directed to the global Kaspersky site where I am also told that a license bought in the US or Canada cannot be activated elsewhere. Great! 

Upon trying to buy a license anywhere in the EU, where I reside, I find out that if you are resident in, say, Spain, you can buy a digital license only in Spain but not in Germany, and vice versa. If you reside in France, you can only buy it in France but not any other EU member state. And so on. At least this is the case with Amazon, whose customer support have explained that it is a limitation imposed by the Kaspersky. 

Have Kaspersky heard of the European common market?  Does not restricting digital sales to individual EU member states contravene the EU law? I think it does. 

To top it off, things get even weirder for residents of smaller - “non-core” - EU member states. I happen to be located in Slovenia. At the moment there are exactly two (2) web stores with Kaspersky Total Security digital product and the year shown in their offer is 2021, not 2022. Other computer stores currently do not offer this product at all and have no idea when it would become available. 

What on earth is going on? Why should I pay at least twice as much as any Spanish, German, Italian,  Dutch, or French resident for the privilege of getting a license on the Kaspersky international site which gives a clear warning that I would not be able to activate it?

Are you listening, Kaspersky? Two days to go, and I’m going to switch to one of your competitors.
