Real-time Protection

I was trying to switch on Ransomeware Protection, but it's greyed out. Above the switch it says in red letters. "Controlled folder access requires turning on real-time protection". In Kaspersky how do I turn on real-time Protection?

2. Do you mean you're trying to switch on Windows Ransomeware Protection?
3. Is KTS Self-Defense enabled?

Yes, Windows Ransomware Protection. Yes self-defense is on.

Note, IF KTS has been correctly configured, ransomware protection is covered; it seems you're trying to activate two real time protection elements, that's not possible.

Ok, thank you for the help. The first box is checked in the self defense. The other 2 boxes are unchecked.

Allow managing KTS settings via remote applications & Enable external service control are both unchecked. Is this the way its suppose to be?

Under self-defense the first box is checked. The two boxes underneath are not.

Allow managing KTS settings via applications and Enable external service are unchecked. I'm guessing that is the default state.

Default settings are as follows:

1. Enable Self-Defense, yes 
2. Allow managing Kaspersky Total Security settings via remote control applications, no
3. Enable external service control, no
