Kaspersky contains a strong Ransomware protection module , but 100% security doesn’t exist.

🔴 Also after formatting  a hard disk ,
a GSI or system Log will not reveal wiped infection information ?

Hello  @Anushka Sanjuna,

Welcome!

  1. When did the portable hard disk get infected?
  2. When the .leto infection happened, did you contact Kaspersky Technical Support? If “yes”, what did they say?
  3. May we have a GSI & Windows Logs, upload to cloud & post back the link please?

Thank you.

  1. its infected from my friend computer. before few months.
  2. .letto is convert my every file to .letto.. ex- if my file ‘’abc.mp3’’ letto it convert to ‘’abc.mp3.leto’’. and then its not usable anymore. and ‘’no’’ I didn’t contact support. because my English is… aa broken or something.. i can’t English well.
  3. i haven't that file anymore… because i formatted  my hard disk.

good thing is, its not infected my computer.. maybe kespersky did protect me.. but im not sure.. i scan again again and again.. its can’t catch it.

Hello  @Anushka Sanjuna,

Thank you for replying🙏 .

Your english is fine, IF Kaspersky software is licensed (Premium) always contact Kaspersky Technical Support; depending on the location, support can be via Online Chat, Phone or via the MyKaspersky account.

& golden rules:

  1. Never  share portable drives
  2. Every day, backup important data.
  3. Every week, create a System Restore Point.
  4. Every month, create a System Image.
  5. Make sure KIS is up to date - always.
  6. Make sure opsys is up to date - always.
  7. Setup & use automated KIS Scans.
  8. Use KIS Privacy Wizard on a regular basis.
  9. IF you contact Kaspersky Community, 🛑always provide a GSI & Windows logs, irrespective of whether or not you’ve formated, we  can check the system🛑
  10. IF you contact Kaspersky Technical Support, 🛑always provide a GSI & Windows logs, irrespective of whether or not you’ve formated, they  can check the system🛑

Thank you🙏
