Purchased subscription for VPN thru 3rd party vendor, do I have to create "My Kaspersky" acct to use?

I've purchased this last year and worked without a glitch, just plugged my new license # in all my PCs running VPN and was good to go. Now when I try that it won't validate.

Am I forced to register my devices thru My Kaspersky?

I decided to register on one PC and now works ok. Either way - previous ones I didn't need to register and I rather not have to if possible.
