protecting my computer while download kaspersky

I just set up a new computer. How do I protect my computer until I get kaspersky downloaded and set up?

I have to download kaspersky while connected to the internet. My computer does not have any protection until I get Kaspersky downloaded and installed. How do I avoid my computer from being attacked while I am doing that?

Windows Firewall (if active) & Defender will provide protection as KTS is setup., KTS will automatically takeover.  

However, first, please do the following:

1. Create a System Restore Point
2. Perform a KTS Software Compatibility check 
3. Confirm KTS Hardware and software requirements
4. How to install KTS reference documents
