Please help as I clicked a known phishing link [Merged & Closed]

I know they gotta have my passwords. ANd a Kaspersky tech telling me to full scan I don’t think is going to protect me fully. Doesnt seem thoro. To just scan after they’re prob in my computer now

I unplugged it from internet.

  1. What is SPectrum
  2. Since installing KTS and running a full scan, have there been any more detections?
  3. In any of the supported browsers: Firefox, Chrome, Edge Chromium, are there any Grabify extensions or themes
  4. Did you enter a password or email address when the issue was happening? 
  5. Do you use a password manager?
  6. Have you actually logged a Kaspersky Technical Support request

  1. Spectrum is ISP told me I had fully working internet. Yet each page visited connection error. ISP reset modem I was then able to get online and research virustotal for that scan, got scared cause came up as phishing link
  2. It did not detect anything when full scan just completed 10 minutes ago. and scanned over million files
  3. No
  4. Not during no, but when this happened i had no internet access, modem said was connected and active, but no signal.
  5.  No i do not
  6. I tried logging an issue with kaspersky but told me since I do not have Kaspersky they cannot troubleshoot. I said outright [removed]  I paid 100 for it. Then she told me to just scan and see what happens. But ANti Virus programs don't usually catch the phishing file…. Which makes me think Kaspersky not professional  or as i thought first telling me i do not have the license, then telling me to scan. 

    Before you read this email. I felt angry and hopeless  so I said nevermind and I exed out the chat.

    I felt it was unprofessional to just tell me I do not have kaspersky then tell me to scan after telling me I don't have kaspersky.. The window was not interrupted I left it. Nor did this person send the chatlogs via email like claimed in this email.….


    I think I got drive by downloader cause I can’t get into my Paypal account now and I'm on separate computer.. This blows.

It sounds as if you had a bad experience with Kaspersky Online Chat Support; it’s actually very surprising [... Off Topic removed ...] however, any such experience can be frustrating and unhelpful; we understand why you’re feeling angry & hopeless, especially when you’ve reached out for help.

Where Arianne says “ you may refer to the transcript of the chat we had a while ago which was sent on a separate E-mail”. 

The chat transcript is only sent if, when the chat is started, the Send transcript option is filled in → images 3. 4. & 5. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Unfortunately, the Community cannot seek data from your computer, this can only be done by Kaspersky Technical Support, we encourage you to seek their help again, if you have the incident reference number from your chat with Arianne, use that, also, give the operator the URL to this topic, you’ve provided good information here, if they read it they will understand & it saves you having to repeat everything. The Support Team can also check to make sure the Kaspersky Total Security (KTS) application is setup to give maximum protection.

  •  ❓2 Can you tell us how you “ clicked a known phishing link” in the first place, were you on a particular site, did you select a link on the site? May we have this information please, we’d like to test & replicate if possible?

I’d like my money back and going with another ANTI VIRUS. I hired someone for 20, after Kasper Scan, found nothing. This guy did and used a free software.


I put in my credit card and email, this is response I receive when putting in details.

I shouldnt of had to pay 100 dollars at first and Asked this Tech support rep for a partial refund. I used Usa.Kaspersky.com to purchse
 

Seems we’re going in circles here and I’m not getting assitance. I rather just take a risk of being infected then staying up not sleeping all night, paying money and 15 minutes after I confirm my activation code in Kasper, am told I do not yet own it either because rep didn’t want to do Job, or system not updated.

Not my fault. Want refund immediately. Will take risk of being infected than waiting and nothing.

I was told to just remove my activation code…. yet i’m told in the system order not exist.

Was in chat, clicked jpeg link. Upon clicking link i notice took more than 10 seconds. became suspicious.

After I exed out I could not connect to internet in Chrome browser. Had to call my ISP to reset. After I was able to get back internet service I put link into VIrustotal and informed me was Phishing link according to Kaspersky.

Only bought Kaspersky via Usa.Kaspersky.com as I thought it was professional enough to be the only url inspector to recognize it is Phishing.
After bought, activated Total Security and Started Scan. Then contacted tech support live chat. And we are at the situation we are at now.

Id like refund.

WOW OUTRIGHT [Removed] and getting the run around. Not the forum being able to refund it. Them putting buffers up to stop people from getting Refunds. Money is hard earned and scarce these days.

I told the CHAT REP I USED USA.KASPERSKY.COM to purchase domain was clear as day. figures. this company (N)
