Hi, I just today upgraded my 1809 Windows 10 to the all new 1903 version and when it booted for the first time I logged in and got a message from Kaspersky Free v19.0.0.1088(e) that some features are disabled and a redirect to https://support.kaspersky.co.uk/13943?cid=KFA_19.0&utm_source=interceptor&utm_medium=product&utm_campaign=KFA_19.0#block2 This suggests that it might not be (even though its been with the Insiders for months). I have since rebooted as suggested but am a bit unclear as to what features may/may not be working now. Many thanks Paul

Welcome to the new Kaspersky Community! With upcoming Patch F (currently in beta testing) those limitations will be removed and will get full support for 1903.
Many thanks for the quick reply harlan4096. I suspected that might be the case. Is there an eta when F might be released? I am wondering whether its worth the effort of rolling back the upgrade or not :-) thanks Paul

I have no info, but probably will be soon, since 1903 is already been released via WU...

Also - what isn't going to work. I have tested file virus detection - works. I have tried Wicar website and dangerous URL's blocked..... Thanks

I'm still not sure of the limitations, but probably related with new W10 1903 Core/Kernel changes...

OK . I will "watch this space" Thanks again. Paul

Hi, I read that it was released on 27th and I have done a manual update and reboot but it does not seem to have been updated to F. Is the free AV product some time behind when it comes to getting the patches does anyone know? thanks Paul

Yes, the official release started 2 days ago, be patient, as always, the patch will be gradually released :) I guess no discrimination between paid or free products here :)

understood. I did not realise it was a gradual roll-out :-) thanks again.

Where do I check to see if Patch F is installed or not?

The patch usually is gradually delived, it may takes even 2 weeks to get, so be patient... don't forget to reboot Your system from time to time...

so I have checked and it asked me to reboot this morning (Kaspersky) so I did but its still on e. When I look at C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP19.0.0\Temp\temporaryFolder\updates\bin\kav19 I can see a folder \19.0.0.1088_kis_f This would suggest that F has downloaded and tried to install but when I look at the release version in teh taskbar icon it still says "e" I think it is failing to upgrade but I am not sure where to go from here? Can anyone (I am guessing harlan4096) help please Thanks Paul

Actually..... Cancel that thought. I did a second reboot and it is now showing "f" Hooray!!!!!!!!! Thanks Paul

I think this is a common situation I already got in my system with previous versions, You already has the update files but still can't see the letter f... I think They active the new patch gradually, even having it already in local

Can confirm, I've also got patch F on multiple machines running various versions of Windows

Is there a simple way to determine when a patch (like F) was actually applied to the system. Thanks Paul

That question is already answered some posts ago -> Kaspersky Support link...

Hi, I can see the release im on (f) but not when the transition took place from e to f. Only the date of the last database definition update. I am probably missing something obvious so apologies if I am.

Ok, this is not so easy to know, when You get an update bigger than usual probably is the new patch, then reboot the system to get the letter.

Shame. It would be good to equate a crashing/mis-behaving system with some changes (e.g. a new driver or a new version of the AV engine.). I'm thinking ahead a bit for when I might get an issue.

You can check to see if newest patch .msi installer files are located in Kaspersky program folders. Then check the .msi file for date created/date modified. I can not recall exact path at the moment.

Hi, That seems to be the best way - thanks richbuff. I can see under program files (x86)/Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Free 19.0.0\ that most files have a date of 30/5/2019. That I guess must be the patch date. If I also look under C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab Setup Files I can see a folder called KFA19.0.0.1088.0.5690.0 with the same creation date (although its an empty folder).
