My outgoing email is continuously offline. (SMTP server) 

I have narrowed this down to kaspersky's IDS content filter under network settings. 

I turn off the network attack blocker and the IDS content filter remains disabled.

And apple mail outgoing then works fine.

Is there anyway I can enable the network attack blocker and keep my smtp server connection online? 

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Adrian

Ok, resolved this problem myself. Turns out it was a certificate issue.

Went into keyaccess found the certificate related to smtp and imap.

Under the trust heading selected "always trust" for all items.

Kaspersky now working fine, apple mail working fine.
