No sound on internal speakers after installing Kaspersky 21.2.16.590 (b)

After installing Kaspersky 21.2.16.590 (b) I have no audio out from my speakers or microphone. The speaker icon in the taskbar show a red x next to with the message “No speakers or headphones are plugged in.”.

 

I have run the windows troubleshooter multiple times without any improvement. Even though the troubleshooter tells me the device is enabled.

 

I have restarted my laptop multiple times without any improvement. The device manager shows the audio device is enabled.
