New vesrsion without asking? Now it's too much. Goodbye Kaspersky

I'm using Kaspersky for more than two decades but it's time to say goodbye. It was my weapon of choice in war against all sort of intruders, but now it started to act as one of them. No more privacy protection, no more control. Kaspresky started to act as my computer is their own. I have no rigts to choose anything. They'll do that for me.

Kaspersky acting like they pay to me for using their products. I'm not in control anymore. If I want to use 2015 version - I can't. Why? Because there is a guy (concerned moderator) who will say - it will be a nonsense. Why do you care mate? I paid for this product, I'll use it the way I want. If I'm not following your recommendations, I can't blame you for potential damage, but let me choose. I'm the one who is giving the money for the product, not you.

Right now I got a notification. And that was the last straw. New version will be installed on my computer. I got two options - to download and install it now or to download and install it in the background. Are you serious? Is there a question - DO you want to install new version? No? Why? Because Kaspersky pays me for using their product?

Hi @Ale.x

New versions are installed automatically. BTW some users force installation with new version (manually downloading and installing).
This is standard automatic process update.
Some people which have no experience about pc etc using an old version maybe 2 years old versions.

So kaspersky wants give you latest version with latest newest technology. This is not bad this is good, good for you. And bonus at the end upgrades are FREE.

This is "good" by whose opinion? Yours? I don't think that anything that is forced is good. Giving an option for an upgrade is good, but forcing it without asking is not good in any universe.

Not all of Kaspersky users are "less experienced." As a matter of fact, Kaspersky doesn't know how many of their users are "less experienced," so your explanation doesn't fit in this matter. Kaspersky should post a notification asking, "Would you like to receive automatic updates?" Then, users who are less experienced can click on "Yes," and their app will be updated automatically. For the rest of the users, there should be an option to reject new versions, and Kaspersky shouldn't ask why they are rejecting because that is our right when we pay for something.

Let's say you are in a store and you have paid for all the things you bought, but the cashier takes some of your items and replaces them with something you didn't choose, with the explanation, "This is the new product, and it is better than the one you chose. And no, you can't take the one you chose, but you must take this one I gave to you. It doesn't matter that you already paid; this new one is better, and we won't charge you for this so-called upgrade." Is this good business practice? To take away the right to choose what you will buy with your own money? Who gave the right to the cashier, or even to store owner to decide what is better for you?

Have you enabled this option in your 2015 version?

I do this with all the software installed on my PC. I regularly follow all the news about the software I run, and if it turns out that there are no bugs or problems with a new version, then I will install it. Until then, I stick with the version that has been proven to have no (major) problems.

I didn't have the 2015 version, but the 2023 version of Kaspersky. This option is supposedly placed to be accessible to people who are "less experienced," as you said, right? No. This option is buried so well that inexperienced users couldn't find it in two lifetimes. So, please stop with the hypocrisy.

Can you explain why I am not allowed to install an older version after uninstalling this new one? Maybe I need the 2010 version for some testing purposes. Or perhaps I just want to use that particular version on my own responsibility. But Kaspersky doesn't allow me to do that, despite the fact that I paid for a license. Could it be because this new version has incorporated so much telemetry that it is no longer a tool for safety, but for tracking users?

Then why do you need such examples, you are misleading other users.

but the 2023 version of Kaspersky.

There is no such version at all.

So, please stop with the hypocrisy.

Your manners leaves much to be desired. When you calm down, then maybe we'll talk again. Please.

That was an example (hypothetical). That wasn't statement. Please differentiate it.

There IS such version. Screenshot from authorised reseller is attached.

I'm very calm. Please stop with such assumptions.

Your answer is typical behavior when a hypocrite is exposed. Suddenly, the other party is the one that is rude because they dared to expose the hypocrisy.

You said that automatic updates are meant for "less experienced users." Do you want to imply that opting out of automatic updates is easily accessible to those same "less experienced users"?

You claim to be worried about less experienced users, yet you buried the check-box for opting out so well that the very users you're worried about couldn't find it in a lifetime.

What do you call that, if not hypocrisy? A good business practice?

No, you aren't. Please, continue your attempts. There's a good word: "goosfraba" (from a pretty good movie "Anger Management", you should know).

Even with that, there's a problem... A very serious case. But believe in you, you can do it. 😄

When you have no valid arguments, the easiest way to get out is to say "calm down"

Yes, there is a massive problem. For you. So, it is in your best interest to cease your replies. Thus far, your responses have demonstrated your hypocrisy, and I have now also caught you red-handed in a lie ("there is no such version"). Should you persist, there is no telling what other flaws you will reveal. You will have utterly disfigured your reputation on this forum.

It is noteworthy that you have failed to address even a single one of the questions posed. Furthermore, you have presented no evidence to refute the assertion that the new version is being aggressively promoted precisely due to its telemetry - an issue also reported by other users. Instead, your response has been confined to trivial cinematic references and deliberate attempts to divert the discussion, which merely underscores your absence of valid counterarguments to the substance of my claims.

@Ale.x There won't be any screenshot, what a pity. A lot of meaningless words, even too lazy to read. Arguments - ha ha, it would be nice for you to know the meaning of this word. Now farewell.

Satisfied with the screenshot?

Still not a single answer to my questions. Just empty words.
