Hello  @Richrich06,

Welcome!

Please tell us:

  1. Operating system name & version?
  2. KTS version & patch
  3. Does KTS report the MSRT error or does MS Windows? 
  4. Open KTS, select More Tools, select Reports, select Detailed Reports, leave ALL EVENTS as default, select 24hrs or 7days, (whichever period covers the timeframe the problem happened), select Export, export the Report, save as a .txt file, attach to your reply please?

Thank you for the information & the report👌 .

In the repot I can see KTS adding MSRT to Trusted group (for applications), but no errors:

Do you have an image of the error please?

  1. Have you checked installed, successful updates & KB#'s ? 
  2. Have you checked Windows Update Settings? 
  3. When did the issue begin? 
  4. If KB890830 is not installed, despite what KTS Report says, have you tried running Windows in SafeMode and installing the update? 
  5. May I have (Windows) Update History Report please, save as .txt file & attach to your reply?

(imo), I don’t “think🤔 ” KTS is RC.

  1. How long has KTS been installed?
  2. May I have an image that shows all failed MSRT updates please?
  3. Have you looked at Windows “Troubleshoot problems with installing updates”, accessed from the Updates window, selected the extended detail of KB890830?
  4. What happens if you run Windows in SafeMode and manually update MSRT KB890830 ?
  5. What are the current Windows Update Settings/
  6. Is KTS licensed?

Hello @Richrich06,

  • WUPD settings Advanced options (your 1st image)
  • Run SafeMode with Networking
  1. In the History image, are the successful  MSRT KB890830 upds, those that have been installed manually? 
  2. Have you reset KTS to default?
  3. Have you run KTS Clean & Optimize Wizards?
  4. Have you done any Windows “housekeeping”?
  5. Checked all hadware & software compatibilty requirements?
  6. When KTS was installed was it KTS19, and then updated to v20?
  7. Is Malwarebytes installed? 
  8. May I have a GSI & Windows Logs, upload the zip folder to cloud & PM the link please? 
  9. Do you create regular Restore Points, Sys Images & data backups?

Thank you for replying. 

  1. When KTS was changed to v20, was a clean install done?
  2. Check List of applications incompatible with Kaspersky Total Security 20
  3. Check Kaspersky Total Security 20 System Requirements
  • Regarding (9) “not really”, my recommendation, you “really” should, if “something” happens, trying to recover your system and data, after the event, is too late.
