KTS not in taskbar, after re install from startup.exe, KTS is not running, not in start menu.

Hi,

I had Kaspersky Total Security 20.0 installed and everything was working fine. Then yesterday I noticed it was not in the task bar anymore and I tried to launch it from Start Menu, but I cannot find it installed. 

I ran the startup.exe file to reinstall, then when I was told to restart PC. Then it says to restart again to finalise the installation. On the second restart, Kaspersky is not running. On “Apps and Features” it shows as installed, however I don’t know how to open it as it is not in the start menu.

I ran a full scan with the Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool, which deleted some files. I restarted and attempted installing after that, which gave me the same error.

Two errors in your Event Viewer:

 

The AVP20.0 service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

 

The Background Intelligent Transfer Service service failed to start due to the following error: Access is denied.
