I’ve been using KIS on my Huawei P10 lite for over a year.

About once a week I note that the icon in the top left of the screen disappears so KIS no longer loading or running.

I can restart it manually, but I often forget so my phone is not protected.

I do not re-boot or turn my phone off.

Any ideas please?

Welcome!

  • ❓ Do you mean you never, ever shutdown & or reboot the phone? 
  1. Uninstall → at the end of the uninstall, turn the phone OFF
  2. Turn the phone ON, login, download a new KIS installer from the Huawei app Gallery
  3. Install & configure → refer KIS for Huawei and Honor devices
  4. Run a manual Update → allow it to complete. 
  5. Run a manual Full scan →  allow it to complete. 
  6. Monitor the “KIS keeps closing” issue?

I’m not much of a mobile user tbh.

I make 2-3 calls a month and send recieve a few texts and that’s it.
The battery does run out on occasion, so I guess it gets a re-boot then.

 

I followed your instructions above and have been keeping a daily eye on KIS on my mobile and I note today it’s not running again. So it ran for approx 14 days.

Your thoughts would be appreciated

  • As a general rule, it’s good for all devices to have a proper sleep, by being powered off & restarted on a regular basis, this facilitates applying application updates, clearing memory lags, etc., etc. 
  1. May we know the Huawei P10 lite OS version please: tap Settings, scroll to the bottom of the list, tap About or About phone → look for Android version ?
  2. Is the Huawei P10 lite fully updated with the latest software?
  3. Of the available system 4GB RAM, how much is available → check Storage
  4. Is Power saving/Battery optimization mode & or Ultra power saving mode ON? If “yes”, please change to OFF; monitor “KIS on Huawei P10 lite, keeps closing” issue, and let us know the outcome please?

Hi Flood and thanks again for your speedy reply.

I spent most of my career working with PC’s/LAN’s/WAN’s so quite comfortable with PC’s etc. Mobiles are a different kettle of fish!

I’ll try and remember to switch the phone off and on once a week.

Just checked System Update - it says - No Updates
Current version WAS-LX1A 8.0.0 393(CO2)

Storage - Total 32GB Free: 11.06GB
SD Card Total 31.91GB Free:30.61GB

Power Saving is OFF
Ultra Power Saving is OFF

 

I’ve just turned the phone off and on and KIS has loaded automatically
