KIS 2021: Does Protected Browser for Firefox have Kaspersky Protection Extension built-in?

  • Author

As a long time user of KIS, upon updating to a new Version, I’ve always been prompted to install the Kaspersky Protection Extension twice:  first when launching Firefox the 1st time, and 2nd, when launching Safe Money in the Protected Browser for Firefox the 1st time.

Having just auto-updated to KIS 2021 (Win 10 Pro v1903 OS), I was impressed to see how quickly the KIS 2021 Notification Center recognized my Firefox browser and linked me direct to the Firefox Add-ons page for the “Kaspersky Protection 2021” extension.  Nice to see this before I even launch FF the first time.

But when I’ve launched Safe Money (multiple times), I have not yet seen any prompts in the Protected Browser to install the Kaspersky Protection Extension.  Yet it looks like it’s not there:  No “Kaspersky Protection” icon seen on the FF Toolbar,  No “On-Screen Keyboard” icon seen in input fields.

Referring to the Online Help, ‘Getting Started’ for KIS 2021:  “ If the Kaspersky Protection extension is not installed in the browser, the application prompts you to go to the extensions download page and manually install Kaspersky Protection when the browser is started.”

I ask a simple clarification, since the Protection 2021 Extension was immediate for the regular FF Browser, but not yet offered for the Protected Browser:  should I go to the FF Add-ons page and select the Kaspersky Protection for the Protected Browser or is it already embedded in some way?

Thank you for your support of such a great product!

Hello @Lovshak,

Welcome!

  • Yes, Kaspersky Protection extension, version 1.0.7.0, last updated September 11, 2020, has to be added - re-added, from the Firefox store, to the Safe Money, Protected browser.

Excuse the (fuzzy) images, Kaspersky Protected browser blocks screen prints😣

Thank you🙏

Thank you, Flood, for your quick reply!

It was easy adding ‘Kaspersky Protection 2021’ to the Protected Browser mode.  Could not be more pleased with all the features I count on with KIS (especially Anti-Banner).

Thanks again from a grateful Kaspersky customer!
