KCS Downgrade to free

My KCS licence has expired so I was planning to use the free version until I can afford to renew.  However I cannot figure out how to do it.  At the bottom right I still had the expired in red.  So I went to Kaspersky website and downloaded it again.  Now I have

Windows 11 in built Virus protection has taken over

 

How do I get the free version or is it not available if you have an expired licence?

Welcome!

The new KSC app needs to synchronise with the MyKaspersky account, to pickup the new information. 

1. Has the original KSC software been uninstalled from the computer? 
2. Since downloading the new KSC exe has the computer been shutdown, using Shutdown, not Restart, and, after powering on, logging in & making sure KSC is active, have you logged into (your) MyKaspersky account, from the  KSC app?
