KATA Sandbox: Cannot install images in VMWare 6.7 [KATA/KEDRE]

Most of the problems with installing images in Sandbox are caused by incorrect VMWare/VM configuration. Please only proceed according to this article after it has been established that each of the specified requirements from Sandbox sizing calculator has been met.

Problem

Sometimes images would not install on a correctly deployed Sandbox even though all the system requirements were met.

Solution

The culprit of this issue was found to be the ESXi version 6.7.0-8169922.

To resolve this, it is necessary to install the latest patch for ESXi.

Then follow the steps to install it:

1. Log in as root over ssh;
2. Create updates directory:
   /vmfs/volumes/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ESXI/updates
   (where XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX is the volume name);
3. Copy the patch to updates directory;
4. Start patch installation.
