Kaspersky VPN completely cuts off access to web pages

I had bought Kaspersky’s anti-virus and other protection programs for many years.  I’ve recommended and purchased them for clients and friends as well.  So I thought I would try Kaspersky VPN.

It has been completely worthless.  When Kaspersky VPN is active, I cannot connect to ANY websites.  That includes Google.com, Amazon.com, news services, etc.  Nothing.  I think that qualifies as a complete loss of services.

I’ve tried various options and server locations.  I’m not new to VPNs, so I understand the setup process.  Other VPNs have worked reasonably well: NONE have blocked access to common websites.

Attempted to email Kaspersky.  No replies.  I haven’t even been able to figure out how to request a refund.

Given this, and the falloff in support, I’m also re-evaluating use of Kaspersky’s antivirus and security programs.  What's going on with Kaspersky?

Hello @StringTheory

Welcome!

How to request a refund for a Kaspersky application

  1. Has an uninstall & clean install of KVPN been done?

The Kaspersky Technical Team will assist to troubleshoot the issue with you, if a case is logged, fill in the Connectivity issuesSpecific website does not work as expected template, they may ask for logs, traces & other data:

  • After submitting the case, you’ll receive an automated email with an INC+12digits reference number, then, normally, within 5 business days, a Kaspersky Technical Support human will communicate with you, also by email, you may continue to engage with the Kaspersky Technical Team via email or by updating the INC in your MyKaspersky account.
  • Please share the outcome with the Community when it’s available?

Thank you🙏

Hi @StringTheory ,

Can you do the following:

Open Command Prompt (if you have Windows 10 → right click on the Start menu → choose Command prompt)

Run the following command:

ipconfig /all

in the output results, how many network adapters have the string:
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Kaspersky Security Data Escort Adapter

?

E.g. on my PC
