Kaspersky keeps trying to update when I've uninstalled it?

I uninstalled Kaspersky a while ago and it seems to be trying to update anyway. I believe it's in Russian (I don’t understand it...). I have no idea how I’m supposed to stop the update window from popping up when I can’t even uninstall it again. I checked Services, Startup in MSCONFIG and installing location. No traces found. I cannot use Kavremover 'cause I can't remember the version of the KIS previously installed. I'm on a windows 11 pc. Pls. see attached screenshot for reference. It's getting really annoying. Please Help.

Welcome to Kaspersky Community.

Can You check in Windows Control Panel -> Programs and Features, if there is the uninstaller entry of Kaspersky?

There isn't a Kaspersky uninstaller entry. I checked everywhere.

I believe the product was not uninstalled properly.

using a delicated removal tool to clean up leftover is a good choice.

the tool can be found in above post.

you can try it in safe mode.

I tried it but it made my mouse stop working and I had to revert to a previous restore point.

Am I wrong or the removal tool needs the exact name and version of the Kaspersky application for it to work safely... and I don't remember neither of them...

I started kavremover.exe just to verify I remember well and there it is "Product was not detected".....

The only thing I was able to recover is a file called "startup.exe" I have in my recycle bin version [21.14.5.462.0.253.0]

Following your suggestion I tried to scan for junk files using Revo and by analysing the results I found out a temp file which led me to the hidden folder "ProgramData/Kaspersky". I went on by deleting it in safe mode. Fingers crossed! I strongly hope this will put an end to my problem. I'll let you know... Btw thank you guys for the support!

The updating window keeps popping up, I have literally looked everywhere, there's no evidence of leftovers, no entries of any kind, services have been correctly removed.. At this point I'd like to be a Kaspersky programmer to know from where this annoying window originate...

You mean a capture of the window? Pls. see the first post.

I finally found the file "update.exe" causing the launching of the annoying updating window.

Location: "C:\program files\common files\av\kaspersky internet security\upgrade.exe"

The executable was running. No services were found to trigger it, only the location and relevant folder.

The post can be closed. 🙏
